Puppy Parade was sent to Taylor in Fairfax Station, VA. Taylor was diagnosed at the age of 10 in October of 2006.
The quilt was made by Lahle of Islets of Hope and her daughter, Elizabeth (age 7, who also has type 1 diabetes). Shipped 10/30/2006.

My son Taylor was diagnosed 2 1/2 weeks ago (in October 2006). He is ten.
He was very depressed the first week, and still cries when we ask him to talk about it. He is a HUGE dog lover, and when I saw the puppy quilt, I knew this was made for him!
This will truly brighten his day, and I am sure he will treasure it forever. Thank you so much for the generosity of volunteers to provide this to us!

Dear Lahle and Volunteers,
Thank you so much for the beautiful quilts. They arrived today and Madison
and I unwrapped them, I read the card to her and she took them and immediately
laid down on them. I have attached a picture of Madison praying which was taken
a week after she was diagnosed which I hope you will like. The next pictures
are more recent pictures of Madison.
Sincerely,
Antoinette and Madison |

Dora the Explorer was sent to Madison, a todddler in VA who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just one day after her 1st birthday. Madison was the very first client to request a quilt through this program -- so we sent her two to help celebrate her birthday and our first quilt!
The quilt was made by Lahle from Islets of Hope and sent on 08/30/2006.
Read Madison's Story. (Madison's Grandmother, Antoinette is just as amazing as her grandbabygirl!)
